Almost 18 months after Google first announced AdWords would be getting a fresh design overhaul, the new AdWords interface has finally rolled out to all advertisers. It’s been a long wait for many advertisers as a gradual rollout started with a select few users and expanded in various phases.
Well the wait is now over for everyone and you should see the new look when you log into AdWords – which includes a number of new features exclusive to the new interface.
New AdWords interface rolls out
Aside from a sleeker new interface, the new AdWords experience transforms the way you organise and navigate your account. The customisable dashboard feature means you can choose the reports that display when you log in and you can also create additional custom dashboards to suit your reporting needs.
Which means the most important data is always available, where you need it.
Google also says the new experience is 20% faster than the previous version, which is impressive considering how much is going on under the hood. It’s been a little slow to start up for us on a couple of occasions but it’s pretty speedy once it gets going.
Take a tour of the new AdWords experience
If you haven’t done so already, you can take a tour of the new experience by logging into your AdWords account. The tour should automatically start up if you’re logging in for the first time since the roll out but you can also manually start it by clicking the ? icon in the top menu, clicking on the Guided steps option and clicking Get Started in the New AdWords experience tab. Next, you should see the following overlay:
Next, you’ll click your way through a quick introduction to the key changes.
It’s only a brief introduction but it’s enough to help you find your way around the new features and get a feel for things.
